Life As We Know It

I wanted to watch this movie from the first preview I saw, and this week I finally got the chance. Life as we know it is about a girl tells the story of Holly Berenson (Katherine Heigl) and Eric Messer (Josh Duhamel). They have friends in common who set them up on a blind date, which goes so poorly it ends 20 minutes after it starts! They vow never to see each other again, unfortunately their friends have other plans. They're thrown together as their friends continue dating, get married, and eventually have a daughter, Sophie. And of course they are asked to be the Sophie's godparents. When the unthinkable happens they find themselves thrown into an unconventional family. Now they have to decide if they can leave behind their lives are they know them. :)

I found this movie very endearing. I loved watching Holly and 'Messer' learn the ins and outs of parenting. It reminded me fondly of my own experience running the mommy gauntlet.
.....yes.....that is pooh on her cheek.

It also has some great supporting characters!
Josh Lucas plays Sam, the all TOO loveable Pediatrician. You might recognize him from...
Glory Road (awesome sports movie)
or Sweet Home Alabama (GREAT chick flic)
Melissa McCarthy plays DeeDee, a neighbor who has mostly good intentions. You may remember her as....
Sookie St. James from Gilmore Girls (and addiction of mine)
And then there's Andy Buckley who has a very small part as a lawyer. But we all know and love him as David Wallace from The Office. (incredibly funny show)
So if you're in the mood for a feel good romantic comedy I would say go get this one!
What movie is making you smile lately?

  1. Red box it! It's funny :) Although I'm sure Trey will say he hates it while he secretly laughs
