Which SuperHero Would You Want As Your Super Boyfriend?
| I'm not sure I could choose! I love them all :) | |||||
Green Lantern - Kind of a screw up, but one that always comes through in the end. He's powerful and capable of doing anything he can imagine!
Played by Ryan Reynolds - And you can't really go wrong with Ryan Reynolds. He is one of my favorites :) Funny, sexy, and HOT! If you want to know more about him and why I like him click here.
Thor, God of Thunder - Although he starts as the over-privileged and over-confident son of Oden, but his time on Earth teaches him compassion, humility, and the true meaning of honor. (Just a sidenote, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I really loved the movie Thor, it's really good! You can watch it on Netflix Instant)
Played by Chris Hemsworth - And Chris is no slouch himself. Heavily armed with muscles, looks, and just plain sexiness.
Batman - Somewhat dark and brooding, not to mention that he comes with definite baggage, however he's found a way to channel his issues into making the lives of the people around him better. Not to mention he's also a rich playboy!
Played by Christian Bale - Oh, I cannot tell you how much I love Christian Bale. He has been a favorite of mine since I saw him in Newsies when I was little, but I like him more and more as time goes on. He was incredibly awesome to go and visit the victims of the Aurora shooting! If you want to see more on Christian click here.
Played by Andrew Garfield - This is the one movie I haven't seen yet, so I can't give you an accurate opinion on Andrew. I plan to rectify that soon! I will say the he looks promising :)
Played by Robert Downey Jr. - I hadn't really kept track of Mr. Downey Jr. ever before, but I've gotta say that I love him in this role. I love his attitude :)

Hart of Dixie Gives Me One More Reason To Watch - Justin Hartley
My favorite Archer from Smallville has made an appearance Hart of Dixie!
I was a little shocked, but extremely happy to see Justin Hartley playing Jesse across from Rachel Bilson. I had almost forgotten how dang cute he is!
He shows up in Zoe's office needed some medical attention on his hand. Of course, he quickly asks her out!
While they have a good time around all of the drama they hit a wall when they discover.....
he is Wade's brother! Now I am torn between my growing affection for Wade, and my endless attraction to Justin Hartley. Oh the choices I have to make!!!!!

Stephenie Meyer's The Host is Going to be a Movie
Here is a review I did on the book a while ago:
The Host
What's it about? The Host has 2 main Characters, but the twist is, they're both sharing the same body...did you get chills? The world has been taken over by the Souls. Alien beings who attach themselves inside of their hosts and take over their lives. Melanie who was one of a dwindling number of free humans left has finally been captured. Wanderer, a soul famous for the number of planets she's lived on is placed into her body. Wanderer expected Melanie to be gone when she woke up, but Melanie had other plans. Melanie tries desperately to hang on to protect her little brother Jamie and her boyfriend Jared while Wanderer fights to keep control. When Melanie's strong feelings for her loved ones start to overlap to Wanderer the game changes and things get interesting. Especially after Wanderer is being followed by a Seeker who's determined to prove that she's hiding something.
Why do I love it? 1-The love triangle get's a little more complicated when there's 4 people and only 3 bodies! 2-I love the idea of a world where money doesn't matter and all of our illnesses are curable. 3-Ian (who turns out to be Wanderer's love interest) is my awesome.
Extras? For more info on The Host click here.
It's no surprise in the wake of the Twilight Series taking to the screen that Stephenie Meyer is taking the leap with The Host as well. I'm intrigued to see how they adapt it to film. It's a really interesting story that could be really cool.

My Hunger Games Movie Review
So now that I have run the gauntlet of Hunger Games fans to see the movie I'm here to tell you what I think about it!
And what I think is that it was wonderful. Watching the movie just reminded me how far above the rest Hunger Games is in terms of the quality of the story. It goes so far beyond your typical love story.

I really love how they brought District 12 to life. I had always known that it was a dark, sorrowful place, but I never really took the time to imagine it fully. It was a bit of a shock to see how much District 12 felt like a 3rd world country.
Even before I saw the movie I had a feeling that they picked a good Katniss. Jennifer Lawrence did a wonderful job of portraying the complicated, head strong, and yet completely oblivious (at least when it comes to boys) Katniss Everdeen.
Willow Shields makes a perfect Prim. It was heartbreaking to watch her screaming for Katniss when she took Prim's place in the reaping.

Liam Hemsworth was a very good choice for Gale. Not only is he HOT, he's perfect for the rugged, brooding Gale. I really loved getting to see him watch Katniss in the games. Ok, maybe I didn't LOVE seeing him hurt, but it was a great addition to the story.
It really helped set everything up for Catching Fire. In the book once Katniss leaves for the Capital after the reaping you almost forget about the districts, but the movie did a great job of showing us what was happening there. I got a better sense of the discord.
Josh Hutcherson plays Peeta. The only problem I have with Peeta is that he's a little on the short side, other than that I think he did a great job with the character. He's got a good feel on the nice, loyal boy-next-door angle. I was a little skeptical of him at the beginning, but as I watched him be Peeta he grew on me more and more. When Katniss came and found him after they made the change in the rules he seemed so earnest and hopeful about the possibility that Katniss might care for him. Sigh...
I'm excited to see the dynamic between Katniss and Peeta in the coming movies. (Although if I'm being honest, what I'm the MOST excited to see is Finnick!!!!!)
Elizabeth Banks plays the colorful (to put it lightly) Effie Trinket. I wasn't excited about her character before I saw the movie, but by the end of it I've gotta say she was one of my favorite parts! The things I found slightly annoying in the book were quite hilarious in the movie.
She was great comic relief for the rather intense movie.
Woody Harrelson plays Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch is exactly the kind of character that steals my heart. Grizzly, damaged, but with a good heart. Aside from the members of the tragicaly twisted love triangle I would say that Haymitch was my favorite character. Especially after you see him leave his booze (mostly) behind and take on the investors to save Katniss and Peeta.
The other tributes, particularly the Careers were very intimidating. Especially once they go into the arena and you see them brutally attacking each other.
Rue on the other hand is nothing but adorable. She was just about everything I pictured her to be. I cried once again when she died and Katniss sang to her.
Cinna was a character I was really looking forward to, and I think Lenny Kravitz was great. I also really loved the way they interpreted the clothes he made for Katniss and Peeta. Awesome.
Caesar Flickerman was played by Stanley Tucci and he was absolutely perfect.
Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley) was a very interesting character. His role in the book was very small, if you would even call it a role. In the movie you see a whole new dynamic to the hunger games, you see the man behind the curtain. In fact it was a little reminiscent of the Truman Show. I'm a little amazed that they pulled a character and story line out of he hat like this one. It was complex, intriguing, and full of surprises. Particularly his last scene, I thought that was brilliant.
Donald Sutherland made President Snow into the mean dictator that Collins depicted him as. I'm a little nervous to see what he's like in Catching Fire.
So if you haven't seen the movie please go do so, and if you have go see it again! And may the odds, be ever in your favor!Sunday, March 18, 2012
Spiderman Take Two: The Amazing Spider-Man
Spider-Man was the only super hero I ever really got into. I used to get up every Saturday morning to watch the cartoon with my dad. They are some of my favorite memories of my dad.
So when the first Spider-Man film came around I was so excited to see it!
I thought the movie was funny and inventive and I thought Toby Maguire was a good choice for Peter Parker. However, even though I liked the movie, I did think it was a little over the top. The costumes and dialog were all very.....well, comic book-y. Maybe they thought it should be larger than life because Spider-Man was one of the first super-heros to make it to the big screen in several years. I think the heros who came after Spidey (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America...) were a little more....realistic, even while they are still incredibly, incredible. So for whatever reasons they had, they are bringing Spider-Man back once more from the top!
This time Peter is played by Andrew Garfield (he played Eduardo Saverin on The Social Network). From what I've heard they will be focusing more on Peter's school days, and his history. Specifically that of his Parents. I've got to admit that one of the reasons I'm so excited for this movie is Gwen Stacy:
Yup, Emma Stone is Gwen Stacy. I hope you love Emma Stone as much as I do, if not then please check out my post on Easy A. Awesome, awesome movie. So here are the trailers that are out on the up and coming Amazing Spider-Man. Coming out this summer on July 3rd! Enjoy :)
