Breaking Dawn, Not Just A Sunrise My Friend

November 18, 2011 is a very important day in lives of many, many people. Most of which are women. All of whom will know exactly why from 2 words: Breaking Dawn. While that may just sound like a time of day to you, to me it means much more than that.

I still remember the day my friend told me about this awesome series. She even gifted me the first 3 novels for Christmas! If she only knew how much use I've gotten out of them!

What's it about? If you don't know what Twilight is about then I will assume you are Amish. In which case you wouldn't be reading this blog. So this is really just for me. Twilight is about Bella Swan, an unusually mature teenager who gives up living with her mother in Phoenix to give her more time with her new husband, and forces herself to exile in Forks, WA to live with her dad. While she planned on being miserable until she graduated, she found an unusual best friend, adventures, and the love of her life all waiting for her.

Why do I love it? Apart from Bella being a character that most young girls can relate to, and amazing love story that is told here, there are 3 things that make me love these books so much. 1-Edward 2-Jacob 3-Emmitt

Extras? On Stephenie Meyer's website if you click on each novel there are many extra's that she's included for you. From deleted chapters she calls Outtakes, to her song list for the book. It's really fun to check out! Not to mention the first few chapters of Midnight Sun, which is Twilight rewritten from Edward's point of view. Click here to check it out.

Tad went to school with a guy who made a hilarious music video about the large group of married women who are Twilight fanatics. You may have seen this already, but it's awesome enough to watch again!

When I'm not paying attention I sometimes find that my kids teach me more than I realize. Here are a few of my favorite lessons. Making Friends Should Be Fun
Scarlett and her cousin Nora don't get to be around each other very often because of the 4 hour drive between them. But don't you think that'll stop them from being fast friends. These two were partners in crime from the very first minute they realized the other existed. Why can't making friends be more fun and less scary for adults?

You don't need super powers to be someone's hero
Wes is always ready to help whenever he's called upon. He never lets anything scare him away from his mommy in need (except for the occasional old lady, for some reason old ladies scare him to death)! He loves helping with building things, cooking, helping Scarlett eat, the list doesn't end. I doubt thoughts like "But if I help daddy build a shelf I wont have time to relax" run through his mind when we ask for his assistance.

Don't give up
Scarlett lives her life under the motto "Where there's a will, there's a way". And she's proved that to me time and again. No challenge is too hard for her to give it her all. Yes it does get her in trouble some times, but that never hinders her from stretching her limits. When do we start feeling self-conscious about trying new things?


Turning lemons into lemonade is a lot of fun
We came home a few days ago on a rainy day to find a LARGE puddle in front of the stairs that lead up to our apartment. While my first instincts was "Great, now my floors are going to be nasty" Wes's was something like "YYYYEEEEEEEE HHHHAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!"

Dickey's BBQ Pit is Pure Delicousness

I am obsessed with Dickey's BBQ. They came to St. George not too long ago and I am in love. Here are the reasons why:

1-Their food is AWESOME! Seriously, so good. Our favorites are the BBQ chicken, Pulled Pork, and their baked potato casserole is to die for!

2-My kids love it too. We can go there and the whole family will eat themselves full.

3-When you eat there you get free complimentary ice cream and pickles! Another thing the kids love about Dickey's.

4-They have a drive through! Seriously, is there another awesome BBQ place you can swing through a drive through for?

5-Their prices are reasonable, especially when you consider the amount of food you get. We like to get one of their family packs. For $30 you get 2 different meats, 3 different side, a thing of BBQ sauce, and a bunch of rolls. It's enough to feed our entire family at least twice, if not 3 times. They have smaller and larger packages, or you can just get a meal. Either way you'll be happy.

We all played our parts growing up, what I want to know today is which one were you...?

Joey from Dawson's Creek : Girl Next Door
Joey is the girl next door. She grew up as a tom-boy and matured into a gorgeous crush worthy girl when no one was looking. However once people started to notice the guys couldn't help themselves from falling for her...All of the guys. Luckily she's down-to-earth enough not to go crazy with all of the attention.

Payson from Make It or Break It: Jock
Payson is a hard core athlete. She is an elite gymnast who will not let anything get in-between her and the Olympics. Her focused, hard working philosophy makes her a little socially impaired, but she manages to find the time to have a crush or two.

Paris from Gilmore Girls: Over Achiever
Paris is the over-achieving, tightly wound perfectionist. She always has to be the best and the brightest at everything she does, and doesn't hold well with stupidity. She comes off a little strange and somewhat abrasive, but I'd say that's just a wall she puts up to protect herself. Once you get to know her she's got a soft heart, and is fiercely loyal.

Summer is what most girls wish to be. Rich, beautiful and popular. Her dad is a surgeon and she's best friends with the most popular girl in school. She does seem to have a hard time finding a quality boyfriend, but she doesn't let that stop her from trying.

Veronica from Veronica Mars: Outsider
Veronica is the outsider. She was once popular, but ended up on the wrong end of a town-wide scandal. Now she's a loner who's pissed off at just about everyone. She has a hard time trusting people, which makes it hard to keep a boyfriend. Thanks to her dad's private eye business she's armed with the skills to hunt down everyone's dirty secrets, and she put them to good use.

Jude from Instant Star: Dreamer
Jude is a dreamer. She's so wrapped up in achieving her musical dreams that she's often oblivious to what is going on around her. Her life takes some amazing turns as she pursues her goals, now all she has to do is manage her personal life. It would be a little easier if her heart didn't belong to a guy she's too young to have.

I would have to go with Joey the 'girl-next-door' as the character closest to my life. Although I would omit the part about every guy falling for me, cause sadly, that wasn't the case. :) How about you?
