Anne Hathaway is Awesome

I've had a soft spot for Anne Hathaway from the very beginning and today I wanted to do a run down of some of my favorite Anne films. She even has a couple coming out soon that look great! If you have a favorite Hathaway flick please share!

The Princess DiariesWatch Clip Here
My first encounter with Anne was in the Princess Diaries. She plays Mia Thermopolis, a not so popular 15 year old going to a San Francisco High School. She lives with her free spirited mother, Helen and her very fat cat, Fat Louie. Although the only contact she's had with her father are the birthday gifts he sends each year, his death turns her world upside-down. Soon after the fatal car crash her grandmother, who she's never met before, comes for a visit. That's when she finds out that she is the living legend of every little girls fantasy. Mia is the princess of Genovia. Now she has to choose between the life she's always known, and the life that might have been.

Ella Enchanted

Ella Enchanted is another take on Cinderella. Ella was given a 'gift' when she was a baby by her fairy god mother, Lucinda. She was unlucky enough to be given the gift of obedience, forcing her to do whatever anyone tells her to do. Sadly her mother dies a few years later after telling her to keep her blessing/curse a secret. When Ella's father begins struggling financially he marries a wealthy woman and brings her, and her two daughters, Hattie and Olive, into Ella's life. When her new step sisters figure out her secret she sets herself on a mission to find her god mother and reverse the curse. Along the way she gets tangled up with Prince Charmont, or Prince Char as his fan club calls him, and his wayward uncle Sir Edgar.

The Princess Diaries 2: The Engagement

Anne becomes Mia once more to fall in love. Mia, who's now the crowned princess of Genovia, is celebrating her 21st birthday when she finds out that she has to get married in the next 30 days or lose her chance to be Queen. She quickly starts sifting through her options, but an unexpected speed bump keeps getting in the way.

The Devil Wears Prada

Andrea Sachs is a very promising writer who's recently graduated from college and having a hard time finding a job. For some strange reason she finds herself lucky enough to land a coveted position as the assistant to the Queen of the fashion industry, Miranda Priestley, the editor of the uber-popular Runway fashion magazine. Andy's lack of fashion sense, or even a desire to HAVE fashion sense makes her an odd choice for this sought after position, but she's determined to give it her all. Andy soon finds herself faced with decisions she never thought she'd have to make. Only time will tell where she will land.

Becoming Jane

Anne plays a young Jane Austin in the story of how Jane, becomes Jane. I am a huge Jane Austin fan and I loved getting a peak into the heart and soul that created so much literary genius. You can see many of the inspirations for characters like the great Lady Catherine and Colonel Brandon in the people she encounters in the movie. Jane bounces back between her dream to write and her dream for love as she struggles to find her destiny.

Get SmartWatch Clip Here
The original Get Smart was a little before my time, but I really enjoyed seeing Anne play Agent 99. She gets teamed up with the very green Maxwell Smart when the American Intelligence Agency suddenly finds themselves short on agents. Together they get into trouble on their way to saving the day.

Bride WarsWatch Clip Here
Anne teams up with Kate Hudson in Bride Wars, a silly/sweet comedy about two best friends. Emma (Anne) and Liv (Kate) have been best friends for what seems like forever, however their relationship is put on thin ice when they schedule their weddings for the same day.

Valentine's DayWatch Clip Here
Anne plays Liz, a receptionist by day, but at night she puts a completely different set of skills to work. Her new boyfriend Jason (Topher Grace) has fallen hard for her, but let's just say he's a little shocked when he finds out about her second job.

Alice in Wonderland

To be honest I've never seen this movie, and I can barely remember watching the original when I was a kid. But now that I know Anne's in it I'm intrigued enough to watch it.

One DayWatch Clip Here
This movie comes out later this month, it looks pretty good! Here's the info, "After spending the night together on the night of their college graduation Dexter and Em are shown each year on the same date to see where they are in their lives. They are sometimes together, sometimes not, on that day."

The Dark Knight RisesWatch Clip Here
And next summer there's a 3rd Batman coming out and guess who's playing Catwoman?! That's right, none other than Anne! Can't wait!
