Be Childlike

It seems like I spent the bulk of my childhood wishing I was grown up, but now that I am I wish I had some of it back. Things like...Eating whatever you want
I fondly remember the days when I could chug down a hamburger, fries, chocolate shake, and 2 slices of chocolate cake without adding a pound to my figure.
Making Friends
Remember when you could make a best friend in a 5 minute game of hopscotch? I'm sure some people have an easy time making new friends, but that's just not me. When I meet new people I usually end up being very self-conscious & shy. I wish I had the same confidence and lack of prejudices that children seem to come by without thinking twice about it.
Simple Pleasures
Of all the toys I've bought my children I think their favorites have always been things like cardboard boxes, spatulas, and empty water bottles.
Cartoons
So right now Wes's favorite shows include Dragon Tales, Sesame Street, and the Backyardigans. However one of my favorites was Pepper Ann! I don't think a lot of people watched this show, but I loved watching Pepper Ann's awkward, yet lovable blunderings.
Sports
I played basketball for 6 years until I graduated from high school and it's one of the things I miss most. (And not just for the 2 hours a day of hard core exercise that I wish I had the discipline and time for now) Tad and I both hope our kids will be involved in sports or dancing or drama or anything else that teaches teamwork and leadership and fair play.
And most of all
Freedom
I love to look over and see Wes walking around like a caveman or laying upside-down on the couch. I envy the freedom they feel to do whatever they want whenever they want to. -Roar like the Hulk, slither like a snake, run around in circles until you can't see strait.- Why do we ever grow out that?

What do you miss most?

What's Your Money Personality?

Here's a great article I found at Oprah. Find out ...

What's your money personality?

Are you a penny-pincher, a financial wreck, a spender, a daredevil or on the right track? Take Suze's quiz to determine your money personality.

Most of us live with the results of how we deal—or don't deal—with our money. The small choices we make every day have a huge impact on what kind of financial life we have. Our money choices form a pattern, and this pattern becomes a money personality.

Do you pinch pennies? Overspend wildly on your credit cards? Find it impossible to save? Or are you someone who has her money under control? This quiz is designed to give you a better idea of how you handle your money and why you make the financial decisions you do. Choose the description under each entry that most applies to you.

Here's my money personality!
You're on the right track. Congratulations! You are creating a life where people come first, then money, then things. Either you grew up in a family that had a very healthy relationship with money or one that was so disrespectful of money that you refused to repeat its serious mistakes. Either way, you've learned to value who you are over what you have. You're on the right road.
...........although I think this has more to do with having a husband who's getting his accounting degree than with anything I've done. :)

Life As We Know It

I wanted to watch this movie from the first preview I saw, and this week I finally got the chance. Life as we know it is about a girl tells the story of Holly Berenson (Katherine Heigl) and Eric Messer (Josh Duhamel). They have friends in common who set them up on a blind date, which goes so poorly it ends 20 minutes after it starts! They vow never to see each other again, unfortunately their friends have other plans. They're thrown together as their friends continue dating, get married, and eventually have a daughter, Sophie. And of course they are asked to be the Sophie's godparents. When the unthinkable happens they find themselves thrown into an unconventional family. Now they have to decide if they can leave behind their lives are they know them. :)

I found this movie very endearing. I loved watching Holly and 'Messer' learn the ins and outs of parenting. It reminded me fondly of my own experience running the mommy gauntlet.
.....yes.....that is pooh on her cheek.

It also has some great supporting characters!
Josh Lucas plays Sam, the all TOO loveable Pediatrician. You might recognize him from...
Glory Road (awesome sports movie)
or Sweet Home Alabama (GREAT chick flic)
Melissa McCarthy plays DeeDee, a neighbor who has mostly good intentions. You may remember her as....
Sookie St. James from Gilmore Girls (and addiction of mine)
And then there's Andy Buckley who has a very small part as a lawyer. But we all know and love him as David Wallace from The Office. (incredibly funny show)
So if you're in the mood for a feel good romantic comedy I would say go get this one!
What movie is making you smile lately?
